A Guide to Do-follow and No-follow links

When someone start its own blog, the first thing comes in mind is how to make it at top in search engine. Whether you are linking to another site or your site is being linked to, it is important part to be considered. When we talk about SEO (search engine optimization), no-follow and do-follow are some common words. Quality links means those links must be from some High Page Rank and High Domain authority site and in addition to this if these links are do-follow, then it is enough for you. But before searching, you have to understand the difference between no-follow and do-follow. A no-follow link is exactly what it sounds like- it’s a link Google doesn’t follow. It is an HTML attribute value which is used to instruct search engine that a hyperlink should not crawl and won’t pass any link juice. So for best practice, you must use no-follow links where you don’t want to pass link juice. Otherwise only humans will be able to follow the links.

Creating a no-follow link isn’t too difficult. You simply need to add rel=nofollow to your existing link. For example:

If a website doesn’t use the link as no-follow, then your link becomes do-follow.

Actually there is no do-follow tag. The absence of the no-follow tag makes the link do-follow. Do-follow links allow Google to follow them and reach our website. If a webmaster is linking back to you with this link, then it will be followed by both search engine and humans.

The benefits are only visible when you have good amount of back links from do-follow sites not from no-follow sites. It is important for sites to get quality back links as do-follow links are crawled by Google, which helps to increase page rank and traffic. Good SEO means that a page is optimized in a way that search engine could easily go through it considering it as relevant source of information.
